Beyond the Paycheck: Supporting Team Members on and off the Shop Floor

Mar 6, 2026 | Team Member Spotlight

Our success as a trusted metal fabrication and manufacturing partner is built on the dedication, skill and pride of our people: welders, shop helpers, skilled tradespeople, supervisors, and the back-office team members who keep everything moving.

Each role matters, and together all our team members make Woven Metal Products (WMP) a company committed to reliable quality, partnership attitude and attention to detail.

It’s why we focus on creating careers, not just jobs.

We’re committed to helping our people build skills, confidence, and long-term career paths in the skilled trades. In fact, many team members start as shop helpers, and through on-the-job-training, they move up to basic welding and beyond.

We also support our team members and their families with a strong benefits package, which isn’t always common in our industry.

  • We provide basic health insurance coverage at no cost to the team member, with the option of using a Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • Also at no cost, we offer basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance, along with long-term disability coverage.
  • After one year of employment, team members can contribute to a 401(k) savings plan, with employer matching.
  • Each year, we bring in financial advisors to review retirement plans with team members. We hold these meetings during normal, paid business hours.
  • Beyond that, we offer six paid holidays, and after one year, team members are eligible for paid time off.

Throughout the year, we host several Team Member appreciation events — from giving Valentine’s Day treats and making snow cones in the summer to our leadership team serving lunch.

Beyond our benefits package, we conduct annual performance reviews with every team member, so everyone receives constructive feedback to keep advancing. In our referral bonus program, we offer $150 incentive to team members who recommend a new hire who stays with the company for six months or more. We also provide required uniforms, complete with a specialized cleaning service, so our team members can focus on their work, not an extra hassle.

Twice a year, our leadership team hosts a Lunch with Leaders for all team members. We serve lunch and have an open Q&A session on a variety of topics. We also offer team members an annual bonus, tied to performance.

Our focus on developing a great workplace culture doesn’t stop at the shop doors.

Through our Woven Together program, we give back to the communities where our team members live and work by donating to local nonprofits like Texas Hope and Kidz Harbor and by supporting local high schools’ booster clubs.

For aspiring welders and fabricators, we proudly offer the annual Spark for the Future scholarship to use toward training tuition, as well as welcome local high school and college welding students to our shop for tours. These visits give our own team members the chance to share their expertise and inspire the next gen workforce.

This Employee Appreciation Day (and every day), we recognize our team members for their expertise and the future we’re building together at WMP.

Every year, we take half a day off as an entire team for food, fun and games at a local events venue. Last year, we spent time at Chicken ‘N Pickle.

Our catered Thanksgiving meal in November and holiday potluck in December are popular annual traditions that bring our team together.
