Vanes
Vanes are a great choice for high velocity, high liquid handling capacity removal of free liquid removal from the vapor stream. They can withstand higher velocities and higher amounts of liquid than traditional knitted wire mesh mist eliminators. WMP offers industry standard chevron-style vanes and improved efficiency vanes through use of more vapor turns and specialty blade spacing.
Mesh Mist Eliminators
Traditionally, knitted wire mesh mist eliminators are used for vapor-liquid applications to remove liquid droplets from the vapor stream. Mesh mist eliminators have great turndown, with very fine droplet or mist removal. We have a comprehensive selection of knitted wire mesh solutions in all densities and wire mesh combinations including co-knit combinations such as Teflon, plastics and glass.
Bulk Mesh
We manufacture knitted wire bulk mesh in crimped rolls for customers that need to pack their own separation, filtration, or insulation devices. Knitted wire mesh is stronger than most other coverings because it is made of all metal, and WMP’s knitted wire mesh is even more robust due to our state-of-the-art knitted wire mesh technology.
Our advanced manufacturing process and quality controls consistently deliver superior, high-integrity mesh with less wire fatigue, contaminants, and fewer skipped or broken stitches for a consistent product with uniform strength throughout.
We stock bulk mesh in crimped 9 lb./cubic feet density rolls made from 0.011” wire, and packaged in 50 lb. boxes, unless a special request is made. We also stock knitted wire bulk mesh in 304 and 316 stainless steels and can source industry standard 4”, 6” and 12” knitted bulk mesh rolls from stock.
If you need an exotic alloy or specialty wire diameters, we can manufacture or source those products on request.

Filters and Screens
WMP can create any configuration, size or perforation pattern for filters needed for a number of applications. Whether with wire mesh or custom perforation, our team makes filters to order for your needs, from screens and cones to baskets, strainers and more.
Below are some examples of the filters, screens and their characteristics that we fabricate:
Woven Wire Strainer Screens
Woven wire can withstand extreme temperature variations, corrosive environments and vibration with its strength. They’re best suited for low and medium pressure applications. For high pressure environments, a fine mesh screen can be supported by a coarse backing screen.
Single Screen Strainers
For moderate pressure applications / simple straining, light and medium grade materials with 40% to 75% open area are recommended.
Multi-Screen Strainers
For complex straining applications, we can create a combination of a facing screen for separation and backing screen for support.
Strainer Shapes
We can create strainers and strainer baskets in various shapes, including cylinders, cones, frustrated cone, flat disc, semi-circular, dome shape, flat and flat irregular.
Strainer Screen Meshes and Weaves
Plain weave screens ranging from .0002” openings and upward represent the bulk of strainer applications. For high pressures or heavy loads, we can use twilled weaves or corduroy type weaves.
Profile Wire
We supply various gauges of profile wire, also known as wedge wire, for your fabrication needs. Products we fabricate with profile wire include strainer baskets, support grids, screens, scallops and more. With our stringent manufacturing standards, rest assured your profile wire product will be built to perform.
Benefits of profile wire include:
- Longevity and enhanced operational efficiency; cost-effective maintenance due to lifespan
- Uniform slot dimensions
- Ability to endure greater pressures than mesh or perforated plates
- Larger open area percentage compared to alternative materials
- Naturally resistant to clogging
- Well-suited for self-cleaning applications in filters and strainers
- Minimal pressure loss
- Sturdy in harsh conditions
- Available in several high-nickel alloys suitable for highly corrosive settings

Wire Mesh
Wire mesh, also known as woven wire mesh, is a woven metal fabric with either square or rectangular “working openings” between wires. Wire mesh has several industrial applications, in fields like refining, chemicals/petrochemicals, construction, mining and more.
WMP can source wire mesh in numerous grades of stainless steel, most exotic alloys, galvanized wire, aluminum and more, in a variety of working opening sizes and wire diameters. Contact us with your needs.

Liquid Coalescers
WMP’s specialty coalescing separation elements are designed to conglomerate and separate immiscible liquids. With specialty materials capable of liquid separation purities down to 10ppm, they often protect critical catalyst, high purity chemicals or various water resources.
Types of Liquid Coalescers we fabricate include:
Parallel Plate Coalescers
These are specifically designed for primary liquid-liquid separation where fouling and solids may be present. They’re often used to protect finer downstream elements such as knitted wire mesh, coalescer and shaved wire wool. We offer these products in all standard and exotic alloys.
Shaved Wire Wool Coalescers
Offering superior liquid-liquid separation purity through superior surface area and droplet conglomeration performance, shaved wire wool coalescers are available in standard and exotic alloys. Due to the wool’s high fragile nature, we include anti-migration inlet and discharge screens to extend product life.
Co-Knitted Wire Mesh Coalescers
These elements are the industry standard for liquid-liquid separation applications and are made with many different materials depending on the specific liquid service. WMP improves these elements by offering superior frame strength, design and co-knitting techniques as required, to ensure high surface area uniform elements. We frequently co-knit these elements in standard to exotic alloy wires that carefully combine with specialty multi-strand fibers, including fiberglass, Teflon, and others.
Diffusers and Housings
Inlet Diffusers & Diverters
We design and manufacture inlet diffusers and diverters in two-phase and three-phase separation devices for both vessel and drum applications. These applications typically require nozzle and product stream optimization before or after the primary element — enabling optimized performance in the main element.
Custom Vessel Element Housings
Our team assists vessel fabrication shops and end-users by making specialty weld-in or non-weld-in housings for necessary separation elements in any thickness or alloy.
