Alvin, Texas-based metal fabricator Woven Metal Products (WMP) has been named the 2023 Texas Family Business of the Year by the Baylor Impact Awards program.
Hosted by Baylor University’s John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise, the awards program celebrates Texas family-owned and Baylor alumni-owned businesses that have made a transformative impact on their industry and community.
WMP regularly invests in new equipment to improve production accuracy and add fabrication capacity. Active in the local community, the company launched Woven Together, a commitment to helping grow the future workforce’s trade skills, in 2022. This includes the Spark for the Future Scholarship, awarded to a local student pursuing higher education in welding and related metalworking specializations. The team also regularly hosts welding students and their instructors from area high schools and community colleges, introducing them to the fabrication shops and showing them future career possibilities in welding and fabrication.
Known for reactor and tower process internals, WMP offers custom fabrications for multiple industries, including oil and gas, refining, chemicals/petrochemicals, renewable energy, pulp and paper, waste and water, mining, architectural, and electrical.
